Mandatory Letters of Intent due June 22, 2023.

On June 13, 2023, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grid Deployment Office (GDO) released modifications to the application guidance for the Maintaining and Enhancing Hydroelectricity Incentives (EPAct 2005 Section 247). Most notably, GDO has clarified the timeline for the start and completion of projects. Specifically, the application guidance now states that projects should be started and completed within three years after projects are selected for an incentive payment.

Letters of Intent (LOI), which are required to be eligible to file a full application, are still due by June 22, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. ET. Full applications will be accepted starting June 23, 2023, through October 6, 2023, at 5:00 pm ET.

NOTE: Full applications for the Hydroelectric Efficiency Improvement Incentives (EPAct 2005 Section 243) are due by 5:00 p.m. ET, June 20, 2023. This incentive will provide up to $75 million to enable the implementation of capital improvements to boost efficiency in existing hydroelectric facilities.
